The Historical Jesus and Christ of Faith in a Recently Published Work by Vladimír Boublík

The paper deals with research on Vladimír Boublík's view of the historical Jesus according to his recently published and not quite finished work Alla ricerca di Gesù di Nazareth (Research on Jesus from Nazareth). The third chapter of this work entitled Il Gesù storico e il Cristo della fede (The Historical Jesus and the Christ of Faith) is presented in the paper and briefly commented on. Boublík carries out his research from the point of view of Fundamental Theology, focusing on the credibility of Jesus' words and miracles according to the records of the Gospels, taking into account the effect of the paschal events. Boublík's work is based on the results of prominent contemporary experts on scriptural texts. He underlines the sensibility of the Church concerning the expectations of modern people and their culture of an appropriate interpretation of the Christian message and its meaning for the eschatological future of humanity and the entire universe. Despite the time which has elapsed between the origin and the publication of his work, Boublík's findings remain valid and useful.
