Ecumenical dialogue and pastoral ministry is a pressing summons for every Bishop to a specific apostolic duty in the new context of impacting the transformation of life, communal and personal, caused by the pandemic. The search for Christian unity has continued, and has made progress. One of the fruits of this is the new document of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity: The Bishop and Christian Unity. An Ecumenical Vademecum. The Bishop’s responsibility for promoting Christian unity is not to be looked for as the fruit of our own efforts; it is first and foremost a gift of the Holy Trinity to the Church. This does...

This article examines how Latin American liberation theology has changed in the past decade. It begins with a major challenge posed to liberation theology by Clodovis Boff, an important author on methodology in liberation theology. The article then examines how liberation theologians at the time and since have responded to the challenge of making liberation theology more theological. They have done this against a backdrop of two events that have had a positive impact on liberation theology’s standing. The first negative event is the worsening political and economic situation that has highlighted liberation theology’s commitment to the poor....

Gregory develops three biblical passages which prove Moses’ perfection. (1) The circumstances of Moses’ death were unusual: there were no traces of corruption by age on his body and his grave does not exist. Gregory connects both phenomena with the main theme of the renewal of the image of God in human, i.e. with life in accordance with virtue. In the main part of the work, this process was presented on the psychic and spiritual level. With the death of Moses, one can glimpse the consequences for the body. The non-existence of the grave has a similar meaning as other expressions of the renewal of God’s image: getting rid of the garment...

The study points to the historical facts that shaped the relationship between the liturgy and Ignatian spirituality. In addition to a brief historical overview of the state of the liturgy at the end of the Middle Ages and during the life of St. Ignatius, our aim was to highlight the interrelationships...

This article presents the concept of the relationship between faith and love, orthodoxy and orthopraxy, i.e. love for God and neighbor in Martin Luther‘s theology. It is based on the results of research by the researchers of the so-called Finnish School of Luther Interpretation. This is defined by the view of the reformer‘s thinking, marked by German neo-Kantian theology, separating God‘s being and his actions, as well as by the perspective of the Formula Concordiae, emphasizing the forensic aspect of justification. Representatives of the Finnish school note the reformer‘s connection to patristic sources in the form of an emphasis...

The issue of ecological theological discourses has been neglected and abandoned for a long time by the end of the theological spectrum, which resulted in the topic of Christian faith as a co-perpetrator in the context of the current ecological crisis. It is above all an anthropocentric turn in Christian faith and the interpretation of the Biblical myth of creation that has been identified as a reason which has led to the spread of ecological disaster and despotic dominance of man over nature. The theological discourse in the 1980s, however, strongly reinforced the idea of ecology, which is related to an increasingly urgent ecological state. The theological...

The paper presents the unique syncretism of Catholic Christianity and West African Vodun in Benin, Africa, and raises the problematic question of whether, in the context presented, it may be morally correct for a Catholic Christian to participate in Vodun rituals considered by outside Catholic observers to be witchcraft and thus cooperate with evil. In addition to introducing the syncretism of Catholic Christianity and West African Vodun and its theological basis, the paper introduces the relationship of the Celestial Church of Christ to West African Vodun and especially to the syncretism under consideration. In the next comprehensive part, the paper...
