Co lze říci o autorovi Markova evangelia?

What Can Be Said of the Author of the Gospel of Mark?

Ladislav Tichý

Studia Theologica 2003, 5(3):1-8549

The article deals with the question of the author of the Gospel of Mark. First, it submits the data of the tradition on the origin of Mark's Gospel and evaluates them critically. Then the content of the Gospel of Mark itself is questioned. The critical confrontation of the data of Mark's Gospel with the tradition leads to the conclusion that the Gospel of Mark does not fully exclude the tradition on John Mark as the author of this Gospel. But we cannot prove it. The Judaeo-Christian origin of the author of Mark's Gospel and his name "Mark" are more probable. Even an approximate determination of the author of the Gospel of Mark is important for a better...

K trinitární ontologii

Towards a Trinitarian Ontology

Karel Říha

Studia Theologica 2003, 5(3):9-15666

Klaus Hemmerle has developed an ontology that starts from the Christian experience of the triune God entering human history. Through this event the meaning of existence has changed so that the classical ontology of substance or of absolute reflection does not adequately represent it. The new ontology can only be developed from the phenomenology of love. The process of love arises from several origins and is constituted on reference poles which correspond to each other analogically and whose identity is no longer a dead selfness but continuity through reciprocal exchange. This ontology permits a basic solution of problems that are insoluble in the classical...

Teologie a současná sakrální architektura

Theology and Contemporary Sacral Architecture

Pavel Kopeček

Studia Theologica 2003, 5(3):16-23620

In the history of church building and the arrangement of its parts, the single greatest change has been a shift of emphasis from the priority of the living ecclesia to the ecclesia as an architectural monument. The priority remained on the community of persons, on the assembly of God's Word, to celebrate with thanksgiving the memorial of Christ's saving death and resurrection and to receive its fruits. The material ecclesia was of importance only inasmuch as it offered a fixed locale for the assembly, and by its physical arrangement of space and furnishings contributed to the proper functioning of the worshiping community. Later centuries were to attach...

Liturgické a pastoračné priestory farnosti obnovenej spoločenstvami neokatechumenátnej cesty

The Liturgical and Pastoral Spaces of Parish Renewed through the Neocatechumenate Communities

Jozef Kyselica

Studia Theologica 2003, 5(3):34-43487

The events surrounding the Second Vatican Council helped to give birth to new charismas within the Church. One of these new charismas is associated with the Neocatechumenate. This particular way of understanding Christian life consists of: kerygmatic catechesis, formation of small communities, the triple method of Word-liturgy-community. In this way, the desire of the Council Fathers to inspire a renewal of the Church became a reality in these communities which celebrate the paschal mystery of Jesus Christ through powerful signs of presence in his Word and in the Eucharist. The Church which gathers to celebrate liturgy becomes the body of Christ. Metaphorically...

Cesty a scestí reformy syrsko-malabarské liturgie na pozadí indického kontextu

The Ways of Reform of the Syro-Malabar Liturgy and Its Shortcomings against a Background of the Indian context

Walerian Bugel

Studia Theologica 2003, 5(3):44-54476

The article shows the historical and theological circumstances of the strong latinization of the Syro-Malabar liturgy after the arrival of the Portugal missionaries at the beginning of the 16th century. Then it focuses on the ways of the reform of this liturgy in the second half of the 20th century. The texts of the Mass from this time bring many specimens of the Latin influences not only on the eucharistic liturgy but over the whole of ecclesiastical life of the Syro-Malabar community. Though since 1998 the Conference of Syro-Malabar Bishops has had the fullness of the liturgical jurisdiction, there are still many problems in this Church concerning...

Trest smrti z etického pohledu

Capital Punishment from the Ethical Perspective

Jindřich Šrajer

Studia Theologica 2003, 5(3):55-601240

The issue of capital punishment has been discussed very often and for a long time and this discussion has not resulted in definite answers so far. In the Christian tradition, the capital punishment has been legitimate for a long time. In comparison with the previous attitude, we can see an advance in the Church teaching of the 2nd Vatican council. In ethical discussions the pros and cons are discussed and arguments against the capital punishment begin to prevail. The legitimacy of capital punishment is connected with social, cultural, political and economical development.

Katecheze dětí a mládeže v období první Československé republiky

Catechization of Children and Youth during the First Czechoslovak Republic

Ludvík Dřímal

Studia Theologica 2003, 5(3):61-68649

Despite the disconsolate situation in the first Czechoslovak Republic the Church continued the catechization mainly of children and youth, especially in state schools. Thanks to significant catechetical personalities among priests (V. Kubíček, F. Tomášek, J. Hronek) it was enriched by valuable impulses from other European countries (Munich method of teaching religion, elements of so-called active school, etc.). On the other side, as it was traditionally concentrated in the school environment, it recognized its limits of influence. Simplified religious truths, adapted to the comprehension of children, were not later developed closely with their personal...

Certainties and Questions regarding Modern Churches

Karel Rechlík

Studia Theologica 2003, 5(3):24-33423

A development of the modern sacral architecture in Europe in the 20th century is characterized by an interest in the liturgy of the early Christian communities, by the desire to authentically express the spirituality of modern man, and by the efforts to find a natural place for the church in terms of contemporary art. Alongside the liturgical current represented by Rudolf Schwarz and the plain forms of Miese van der Rohe (I.I.T. Chapel in Chicago), the expressive style of Le Corbusier's Chapel in Ronchamp also emerged at the same time. In Northern Europe sacral spaces opened up towards its surroundings consistently for the first time (Chapel in Otaniem)....

The History of the Roman-Catholic Church in Southern Bohemia in 1968-1972

Martin Weis

Studia Theologica 2003, 5(3):69-77405

In this article, another part of the Roman-Catholic Church's history in Southern Bohemia, the period from 1968 to 1972, is mapped. The article is based on the book by Martin Weis, Minutěnky vzpomínek na pastýře lidu svého (Prague: Panevropa, 1999) and complemented with other archive materials, previously unpublished testimonies by contemporaries and quotations from the periodicals. The years in this country were typical with great hopes and optimism, as well as deep disappointment and gradual resignation due to the ongoing "normalization". The introductory part describes a ceremonial return of Bishop Dr. Josef Hlouch to the diocese of České Budějovice....
